TapeRevive

Terms of Service & Acceptable Use

Last updated: June 4, 2026

These terms describe what we will and won't convert, how we handle your tapes and files, and the limits of our liability. By placing an order you agree to them.

1. Who we are

TapeRevive ("we", "us") is operated by Intuitive Dataframes LLC, a limited liability company. We provide a service to digitize VHS, VHS-C, and S-VHS magnetic tape media (NTSC and PAL) for individual customers ("you").

2. Acceptable use — what we will convert

We convert personal home-video content that you, your family, or your estate created or otherwise have the legal right to digitize. Examples include:

3. Prohibited content — what we will not convert

We will not knowingly digitize any tape that contains:

You confirm at checkout that your tapes comply with this policy. We may spot-check the first frames of each tape during intake to verify compliance.

4. What happens if a tape violates this policy

If a tape we receive violates Section 3 above, we will:

5. PAL conversion surcharge

PAL tapes are charged a $10 per-tape surcharge on top of the per-tape conversion fee, reflecting the different equipment and frame-rate conversion required. If you select "Mixed" at checkout because you're uncertain, we charge the surcharge up-front and refund it for any tapes that turn out to be NTSC.

6. Shipping & risk of loss

You are responsible for packing tapes safely. Risk of loss during inbound shipping is borne by the shipping carrier (USPS or UPS) up to the insured value ($200/box default). Once we receive and confirm your package by email, risk of loss transfers to us up to the maximum liability described in Section 10.

7. Quality & recoverability

Magnetic tape degrades with age. We do not guarantee any specific quality outcome and cannot promise that footage will be recoverable. Where footage is genuinely unrecoverable, we will refund the per-tape charge for that tape but no other amounts (including shipping or any PAL surcharge).

8. Your cloud library & storage retention

Each converted video is delivered to your private TapeRevive library and is accessible only to you. Every order includes 90 days of free streaming and downloads from the date each video is delivered.

After the free window, videos are permanently removed from our servers unless you have purchased an active cloud-library extension ($5/month, $25/year, or $49 one-time for 5 years). We send reminder emails 15 days, 5 days, and 1 day before any deletion so you have time to download or extend.

Once a video is deleted under this policy, we cannot recover it. Download anything you want to keep before the expiration date.

9. Data & privacy

Your digitized files are stored in your private library and are accessible only to you and (where required for support) to operators of TapeRevive. We do not sell, share, or use your footage for any purpose other than delivering it to you. See our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

Our maximum liability for any cause (loss, damage, deletion of files, breach of these terms) is capped at three (3) times the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including emotional distress or loss of irreplaceable footage.

11. Refund policy

We will refund any tape we cannot meaningfully recover, and any PAL surcharge applied to tapes that turn out to be NTSC. We do not refund for subjective dissatisfaction with quality where the conversion meets the spec of the tier purchased.

12. Disposal of originals

If you choose "recycle for me", you authorize TapeRevive to physically destroy the tapes and dispose of them through a certified R2 e-waste processor. This is irreversible.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
